Blue Jays Play for Chalmette Tournament Championship After Outlasting the Owls

Generic-JHS-Basketball-2_IMG_0130-2015Seniors Trey LaForge and Foster Moreau are proving to be a dynamic duo down low. The forward and center teamed up for 38 points as Jesuit downed Chalmette, 59-49, in the 2014 Valero Christmas Classic. The semi-final game was played on Friday, Dec. 19, at Chalmette High School.

The Blue Jays led 16-5 after the first period and 29-9 at the half. Four three-pointers from sophomore Hunt Conroy helped the Jays get off to a fast start.

LaForge tallied 22 points, while Moreau finished with 16. Conroy totalled 15.

The victory gives the Jays a 6-2 record.

Jesuit faces St. Augustine, who beat Salmen, 53-39, in the other semi-final contest, in the championship game. Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20.
