Swimming Trounces Four Teams to Win Metro Meet

The Blue Jays, 6-0,  swam for decisive wins over teams from Ben Franklin, Destrehan, Riverside Academy, and Brother Martin at UNO. Blue Jays placed in the top spot in eight out of 10 events, and took both second and third place in each of the remaining two.

Posting first place times in individual races were senior Chris Simmons in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle, senior Michael Conrad in the 200-yard freestyle, freshman Jack Baudouin in the 500-yard freestyle, senior Francis Plough in the 100-yard butterfly, and junior Cade Fuxan in the 200-yard individual medley. All three relay teams also took first place. In the 200-yard freestyle relay were Francis Pough, sophomore Jack Jackson, Cade Fuxan, and Chris Simmons. In the 400-yard freestyle relay were Michael Conrad, senior Patrick Cecola, senior Taylor Giorlando-Wall, and sophomore Josh Armond. And swimming in the 200-yard medley relay were Francis Plough, senior Sam Johnson, Cade Fuxan, and Chris Simmons.

The Jays are scheduled to jump back in the pool on Tuesday, Oct. 7 against Holy Cross at UNO.
